The Science Lodge #50 Masonic Education Page
Welcome to the Science Lodge #50 Education Page! Freemasonry symbolically uses the tools and implements of ancient architectural craftsmen in a system of instruction designed to build character and moral values in its members. Its singular purpose is to make good men better. Masonry teaches that each person, through self-improvement and helping others, has an obligation to make a difference for good in the world. Freemasonry is open to all men who profess a belief in Divinity, however, Freemasonry is not and has never been a substitute for religion; for religious matters Freemasonry encourages its members to practice the faith of their personal acceptance.
As a part of our self-improvement process, we are encouraged to study the Seven Liberal Arts in order to better understand the workings of the universe and our place within it. The educational lectures and information presented here are meant to stimulate your thinking and provide viewpoints on subjects you may not have considered. It is important to realize that no one person speaks for Freemasonry and that the content provided here is simply the opinions and viewpoints of their respective authors.
One final note: as this is an open forum, some of the original lectures provided here made specific references to the rituals and secrets of Freemasonry that cannot be shared with non-members. For the most part, these secrets involve one of two categories: (a) the means of recognition between members and (b) the personal insights one gains through our rituals. With regard to the second category, it's not that we can't talk about them but rather, these insights simply can't be expressed in words; instead, they can only be experienced by each person on an individual basis. As a result, these lectures represent a synopsis rather than the complete lectures. To experience the full lectures, we encourage you to consider becoming a member and making this voyage of self-discovery yourself.
